Luke Vanthof was the crew for the first real sail on PAPA II. 4 days and 3 wonderfull nights at anchor in or near the MOCHIMA National Park of Venezuela. With afternoon winds puffing over 35 knots Luke was looking for hand holds and searching for the right button to push. At night the winds died and the mornings were so calm he was dreaming about his ski boat back in Utah. We did some great diving with the BROWNIE Compressor and refuled at CUMANA. Dan even managed to use the watermaker sucessfully, making over 200 liters while we were sailing amoung the islands. The hike at teh abandoned fish camp was even more exciting with the sighting of an 8 foot snake and a few small lizzards. All part of the local flavor of Venezuela...
