Welcome to my home PHOTO and VIDEO page. Below are several GALLERIES and over 1000 photos and a few select videos for your viewing. Currently I am sailing the world on board the "New" PAPA II. The past 3 years sailing PAPA I from the Northern tip of Vancouver Island Canada down to Catalina Island in Southern California has been amazing. The trip up the coast last spring was a blast, some times hitting speeds of over 18 knots. We are now looking forward to the adventures of far away places. There is always room for energetic sailors to come along on my next adventure. Please give the Captain a call to see when you can book a berth on any of these great adventure sailing trips. CANAL Preperation and Transit : These photos were taken in COLON, Panama at the PCYC (Panama Canal Yacht Club) not much of a clubhouse really... And of couse photos of the actual trip through the canal. We started at 1730 on May 7th and finished at 1300 on May 8th with a 9 hour anchorage at night in Lake Gatun. This fresh water lake feeds the flow for lock operation and provides for some great swimming for the crew and crocodiles !!!

The Outer Islands of VENEZUELA : Shots of the provisioning in Pureto la Cruz, and departure to the islands. TORTUGA, LOS ROQUES, and LAS AVES. Also some shots of the Dolphins near MOCHIMA National Park. PAPA left Pureto la Cruz for the last time... Now we are making out way SLOWLY through the Outer Islands enroute to the ABC's. Plenty of trade wind sailing. Perfect tropical anchorages and even some world class kiting!!! More photos will be uploaded soon.

Madien Voyage in VENEZUELA : Luke Vanthof was the crew for the first real sail on PAPA II. 4 days and 3 wonderfull nights at anchor in or near the MOCHIMA National Park of Venezuela. With afternoon winds puffing over 35 knots Luke was looking for hand holds and searching for the right button to push. At night the winds died and the mornings were so calm he was dreaming about his ski boat back in Utah. We did some great diving with the BROWNIE Compressor and refuled at CUMANA. Dan even managed to use the watermaker sucessfully, making over 200 liters while we were sailing amoung the islands. The hike at teh abandoned fish camp was even more exciting with the sighting of an 8 foot snake and a few small lizzards. All part of the local flavor of Venezuela...

"PRESENT MOMENT" an adventure on a Hallberg Rassy 46 from San Francisco to Dana Point : From the adventure aboard "Present Moment" a HALLBERG/RASSY 46 foot sloop. Sailed from San Francisco to Dana Point, CA with a crew of 4. Owner Bob, Captain Dan, Drivin' Dave and "the Admiral" Chris, aka "Cat". 450 Nautical Miles sailed in 7 days with stops in Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz and Catalina Islands.

Seattle to San Francisco : The first set of pics from the SEA-SFO passage. Captain Dan, Don, Mike and Paul left SEA on October 10th enroute to the Golden Gate. On the 21st the journey was complete as PAPA sailed under the famous bridge and entered San Francisco Bay. San Fran BACK to Seattle : PAPA left the Golden Gate on May 6th, returned on the 12th due to bad weather and left again on May 21st. She arrived safetly in Seattle on May 30th. This completed 3600 miles of winter cruising. These photos document both trips. On board with PAPA and son were Seth Siegal, Patrick Hartley, Brock Palmer and Don Clements.

Southern California 2006 : PAPA left San Francisco on April 13th bound for warmer waters and sunnier skies. Both were found around Santa Catilina with George and Miranda. Tim was aboard for the return trip from LA to San Fran later that month. Then Seth, Patrick and Brock made an attempt at SFO to SEA. Now back in San Francisco Bay PAPA is getting ready to go to Seattle for the summer.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY : Check out PAPA's new home. The Brisbane Marina is 5 minutes from the SFO Airport and just a day sail from all these photos. A moonlight trip downtown for a quiet dinner.
